Perfect wedding venue – summer and winter

If you choose a summer wedding in the gardens you can use our licensed verandah or put up a marquee in the grounds. For winter weddings we’ll light the fires in our grand banqueting rooms and you can relax in the library or games room with full-size snooker table.

You can truly personalise your weekend at Buckland Hall – have a wedding in our red cedar glade, organise a fairground ride for the grounds, bring your own florist, it’s that kind of place.

The history of Buckland Hall

The privately-owned manor house has character in spades. It is built on the site of a much older mansion – which explains why it was re-built after a fire in 1894 in Tudor-Elizabethan style with gables, mullioned windows, huge fireplaces and a spectacular grand hallway and staircase.

Buckland has literary connections too – the woods surrounding Buckland are said to have been JRR Tolkien’s inspiration for the Buckland Forest of Frodo Baggins in Lord Of The Rings.
